On June 2, AACO volunteers joined Self-Help for the Elderly (SHE) and other volunteers as they got ready for their Longevity Gala, a fundraiser for this organization.
A group of 17 people showed up for 3 shifts. Volunteers really enjoyed the event as not only did they get to help out, they also learned something about Japanese flower arrangements, and arranged over 200 expensive items for the silent auction!! This is definitely an event that we would assist again for the years to come!! Some of us (those that signed up first), were given complementary gala tix for the evening which consisted of a wonderful program. We even got to meet with Mayor Gavin Newsome!!
